Summer has arrived in Southern California. The mornings are bright and cool but hint at the heat to come by 10am. If Razzle hasn’t been out walking by then, she isn’t going. She gets too hot to walk and just lays down on someone’s lawn til she feels she can go on. I can’t walk her alone anymore so she doesn’t get out during the week. Mr Zen takes her and me on the weekends but I don’t have to wear a leash. I am still more likely to bite someone than she is.
I am red headed, it is “enhanced”, if you know what I mean. I have always had that red headed skin that burns in a second so I was never big on the beach in the summer. Most of my beach days were autumn days, warm and orange. But the sea is magical anytime you are there. I can not imagine living away from it. Rivers and lakes must mean the same thing to land locked folks. Water, the universal ingredient of life.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!Monday

I plan to spend some of that water in the garden now that the pavers are finally in. The sod will be next and it will need water to take hold. I wish I had gotten to it a month ago but the pavers turned out to be such a lot of work. So, now, onward to grass!
