I went to Costco this morning. This was not my neighborhood store because I was not able to find the chews I wanted for Razzle at my local Costco. After having gone to three different ones now, I realize they put these particular chews, called “Nubz” in a section other than the dog food section for reasons I have not been able to fathom. So, they probably ARE at my local store, I just have to hunt them down. But that is not the story today.
I came into the parking lot from Street A and parked somewhat close to the entrance. As I walked down the parking lane, I heard what sounded like an old lawn mower but was actually a 1959 VW Bug parking near me. I made eye contact with the woman, younger than I am but not young, and we both smiled brightly. I went into the store.
When I came out, I could not find my car! I looked and looked, walked and walked, and was almost ready to believe that someone had stolen my car (fat chance). But before I completely panicked, I turned around in the parking lot, 360 degrees and looked at where I was. I realized that I was not looking at Street A at all. I was facing the wrong way.
Just then, in the distance, I heard the lawn mower start up! I was saved! I followed the sound to her car. There she sat, fiddling with the radio. She looked up and saw me, smiled, and rolled down the window at my pantomime request. I told her the story of being lost and found by her sound and she said to me “He works in mysterious ways” and I said “Thank You, Jesus” and we parted laughing.
A good morning in the world. I needed it. Have a good day, your own darn selves.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!Monday

PS: My folks gave me a 1966 VW Bug for high school graduation in 1969. My grandmother gave me luggage. I got a job, put my stuff in the bags, the bags in the car and moved out into the world. I never lived at home again although my folks helped me stay away from time to time.
