Lil Zen’s restaurant had its office party this evening. She hates to go to these things but feels she must at least put in an appearance. So she invites me and we got eat and watch a little then slide away unnoticed.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

The owners of her restaurant own another and hold the party there. They had a taco truck turning out great tacos and quesadillas all night. They also had a chocolate fountain which I have only ever seen in movies. But the thing that made me laugh was the slushee machine that turned out margaritas. I don’t drink, its not a moral issue, I just can’t hold my liquor, but this machine was a marvel of the modern age as far as I was concerned.
They had karaoke, a dance floor and the back room was filled with casino game tables. They taught you how to play each game.
This was much better than the office parties we had when I worked for the phone company, at least at the offices. And we never had a taco truck. I ate way more fruit drenched in chocolate than I should have, but it was yummy. Merry Christmas to us!
