IAN:Thursday 12/28/2017 Mansplaining about a dead Christmas tree

My husband, darling that he is, is one of those men who just has to mansplain every damn thing you mention to him.  I swear, he would tell the Pope how to pray.  An illuminating example resides below our opening lines.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Mr. Zen tells me all the time how to do the simplest things imaginable.  If I let him into the bathroom, he would tell me how to pee.  So, one year, he broke his leg.  I had to do everything that year from putting up the lights to taking the tree to the curb. We took the Christmas tree out to the garden to wait for trash day.  When the night before came, I went out into the garden to get it.  I was starting to kind of pull it because it was a big one that year.  I swear, he came out and started to tell me how to drag a dead Christmas tree across yard.  I almost lost it right there!  I started yelling at him to STFU and let me get on with it, I didn’t need lessons.  Then I just started laughing!  WTF does he think it takes to haul a tree out of the yard?  Apparently it takes more thought than I gave it.

He still does this every day.  It is in his nature.  I try to just let it go and nod but sometimes, I have to let it all out.

The tree is still in the living room this year. We plan to take it down tonight for the recycle truck to pick it up tomorrow.  I usually wait until New Year’s day but I don’t want it hanging around in the garden for another week.  Maybe he will take it out since his leg is not broken now.  It might be though if he mansplains how to take off the decorations!
