One of my brothers in law is a park decorator for Disneyland in Anaheim. When he first hired on, he was doing construction on the Cars Land attraction. He came home one evening with a problem about the little thingies on top of telephone poles in the old days. What were they? I knew because I had about a half dozen of them that had belonged to my father. They are glass insulators that the wires run around. I explained them, gave him a couple and off he went. He gave them to the design department, they had them copied and produced and placed at the top of all the utility lines in Cars Land for that authentic old time look. My father lives on in Disneyland!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!Monday: BadKitties

On Sunday morning, Ray called and asked if I wanted to go to breakfast at the park. Sure! I’m always up for breakfast. So my sister, her Mr, Ray and I went. He is now one of the top decorator designers for the Christmas decos for most of the restaurants, gift shops, and parks here and all around. While we were there he took us to see a lot of the special decorations he had designed and created. In one store, the tree was done up with 78 records. I mentioned how much I liked that and he told me those were my mother’s 78s! He brought them from home (he lives in her house now) and they used them, albeit with different labels to show the Disney tunes. So now my mother lives on in Disneyland too. I love that both of them are together in spirit in the same area of the park.
