I bought some mollies for my aquarium shortly before the stay at home rules. I may have mentioned that I saw eggs in two different locations, on two different occasions. Well, when I went to feed them this evening, I discovered 3 tiny baby mollies, as bold as day!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I saw the eggs appear on the glass of the tank in two places, although I didn’t see them get deposited. The fish ate the eggs pretty quickly and I considered it a done deal. This happened twice but it was a few weeks ago, I think. However, after research, I discovered the molly fish have live birth, no eggs. The cory catfish, the black skirt tetras, and the plecostomus all lay eggs, but I have had them for a long time and no eggs before. I wonder who laid them? But I think they are baby mollies. I cleaned the tank a few days ago and there was no sign of babies.
We will have to wait for them to look more like the adults of whatever type they are.
So, they have avoided being eaten now that they are out in the open. If they grow as quickly as it looks like they do, they will be too large for the bigger fish to get into their mouths. So I hope they stay quick and grow quick and like the rest of us-
Be safe and be well.
