I started a quilting class at the local adult school late last year. I have been going to this teacher’s classes for a few semesters and have shown the quilts I made here as we went along. This is the one that was assigned the Monday night I started. The pattern is called “Attic Windows”. The next Tuesday morning, I was at my Helping Hands group when another member came to me with a big panel and said “Can you use this?”
DK Quilt Guild: A place for quilters to gather, share ideas, projects, and to make the world a better place, one quilt at a time. Join us and share your thoughts, projects, questions, and tips. Quilters here are at many different levels of skill. Beginners and non-quilters are welcome, too.
This is half of the panel she gave me, with this beautiful scene just right for seeing out a window. I was so happy to get it, she was meant to find me that morning. I cut it in half and made this 38x59 inch lap quilt. I am pleased with how it came out and my straight stitch quilting is getting better and straighter. I call it “I Shall Be Released” because it looks like a scene that is just beyond my reach, beyond the brick walls.
So what have you been getting done recently? Let us know, show us pictures, give us good advice. |
