The directions said 2 hours, at least 3 people in some places. They did not appear to have been translated from Chinese and the Chinese have the same measurement of time as we do anyway. 2 hours was needed just to put washers on all the bloody screws!

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

The blue tape is holding the footing covers up because we have not pounded the stakes into the ground. Mr. Zen has to still level it as much as possible but a video we watched said not to take that too seriously. The main thing is to have it even enough for the awning to pull across from one side to the other. It does, we are successful!
It is put together in two halves and then they are joined at the middle of the top beams. 3 of us had a fine time trying to make that happen but we did. The parts are not that heavy but they are long and unwieldy. I was quite thankful for my Saturday BFF’s help. We could have used another person but only for about ½ an hour. We got it done. We spent about 7 hours on Sunday and got it all erected but Mr. Zen and I had to work the next evening to get the awning completed.
The product gets my vote for being well put together, complete, accurately described with clear instructions that worked. All parts were numbered, each set of screws in its own bag, clearly marked. The pieces would only fit together properly, you could not put them upside down or left instead of right. It was well packed in 3 containers that we could lift, the hollow long pieces were filled with the smaller ones and small parts. The company is Moderna. I bought it from Costco, delivered to my driveway.
We did a bit (!) of damage to the new lawn and Razzle has made her mark and paths, but we will repair most of that now that we won’t be tromping all over building stuff and some will just have to be sacrificed for Razzle’s use. Now I have to start looking for furniture so we can sit out and enjoy it. I want things I can take away when we aren’t using them to let the grass grow as well as it can. We’ll see.
