I have two tips for making everyday life a little easier. Come below to find out.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

One day, some years ago, I was desperate for some scotch tape. I know “scotch tape” is a brand name but its what I have always called it and I bet you do too! Anyway, no matter where I looked at home, there was none to be found! It ticked me off so badly that I went immediately to the local stationary supply store and bought a very large multi pack of tape. I then walked around my house, pulling open the top drawer in every cabinet and desk. I deposited a roll of tape in each drawer, living room, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom. If you can open a top drawer in my house, you will find a roll of tape. I don’t buy the cheap tape from Dollar Tree. I know from experience that it doesn’t tear/cut off the roll and has no sticky by the time you wrestle it off the cutter blade, which may or may not have any teeth. I buy the good stuff so I know it will work.
No picture of tape roll in top drawer.
Tip #2: Keep your tp and paper towel cores. They are so handy for storing stringy stuff, like electric cords and rope. I put all my extension cords in tp cores for storage.

At the fish tank, I have them standing up, clipped together and each holds a cord for something at the tank, going into a breaker bar. I just fold them the right length and stuff them into a core. They are easy to locate to unplug for maintenance.

I keep the cord for the iron contained in a tp core to keep the cats from pulling it off the ironing board, playing with the cord.
Ok, these are my two tips for the new year. You can add yours in the comments. Youffraita will be back next Monday with a much more enlightening diary. Meanwhile, be safer than usual and be well.
