I have become addicted to watching Dollar Tree DIY videos. I often wonder just WTF the (mostly) women do with all this stuff they make but I mostly don’t make it, I just watch. Kind of like cooking videos these days…..
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. Anyway, the picture above is a little wall piece made with a page from a calendar, fake flowers, jute rope, and two ribbons, all from the Dollar Tree. Margie made one, very different from mine. The bow she made is wonderful!
We usually sew but both enjoy doing crafts too so I break out the totes full of stuff and we do something every so often. It is always interesting how different our projects come out using the same basic supplies and techniques.
Here are a few pictures of things I have done in the past, giving all my $1’s to Dollar Tree, now I called it “4 for $5 Tree”. Its still a deal and depending where you live, a real connection for a lot of things.
YouTube and Dollar Tree (and the others like it) are art life lines to a lot of people. You don’t have to have a lot of tools and can still work with wood. Or paint. Or make wreaths to hang on your front porch. For little money invested, your work becomes the reward for investing time and energy. No matter how little talent you may think you have, diligent following of instructions can produce surprising results.
