I am going to admit something here maybe most people wouldn’t let on about.  I watch the Baby Channel in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep.  They run most of the education shows during the day but late at night, they get a little surreal.  Some of it reminds me of my old hippy days.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

They run videos showing a person drawing with their hands in sand on a large light box.  The designs are very simple, meant for babies and me I guess but I find it fascinating to watch.  The designs are not like mandalas but have charm none the less.

Another video shows a screen that looks like this fidget toy for the 70’s called a Space Fidget.  In that time, I went to raves held in commandeered warehouses, with rock blaring out and a big screen at one end that showed someone playing with one of these.  I wore more than one out, wearing through the plastic where you rubbed to move the oil inside.  I was surprised to find info on google about it and this picture.

rub the back, the oil moves and changes color.  Very spacey.

But the thing I really fell in love with are the clay animation cartoons called Mio Mao.  They were done in the 70’s and have been re released and newly made over the years.  I am posting one here.  They are all 5 minutes long and have the same plot-the kittens play in their garden and find a new creature that they don’t know about.  Usually, they end up helping that creature. The backgrounds change in them and I love the garden sculptures. I posted this one because it has most of the cute mannerisms. Use the link that says Watch on YouTube.

Bill can’t understand why I would watch baby cartoons but I find them to be rather like Rocky and Bullwinkle from back in the day.  No, they are not filled with sly double entendres but they do have their own humor that I appreciate.

There are 3 seasons.  In the first season, the kittens are rather crudely made but season 2 is wonderful.  Things were changed a little in season 3. They have their own YouTube channel if you or your children/grandchildren might like them.
