It’s hard to remember that the prime directive was to drain the swamp. (Not a political commentary)

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

The Great Sugar Incident
I needed some sugar for a recipe. I got the container out of the cupboard, poured what I needed into a measuring cup and set it aside. I remembered that the mason jar I keep sugar in for my coffee was low, so I filled it too. I also refilled the creamer jar. Then, before I put the sugar container away, I noticed that it needed to be refilled. I got the last bag of sugar out of the pantry and filled the container. I put it away. Then I made a note on the grocery list to get sugar.
Then Lil Zen came and we walked the dog, returned the ebike to R.E.I and went out to dinner. The restaurant had changed since 2020, the last time we had been there. No more ipads on the tables, now the server had her little hand held and could punch in what you wanted in a second! It was good but not the same.
The sugar in still in the measuring cup on the butcher block. I have forgotten what recipe I was getting it for. In the middle of the night, I will remember what recipe I was getting it for, get up, go to the bathroom, and get the recipe out of the book before I go back to sleep. None of the furchildren will have moved other than perhaps opening one eye.
Have a good day.
