IAN Thursday 9/28/2023 Child's Play Revisited

We become more childlike as we age, I think.  We take naps, eat soft foods, get cranky, and like to play with art supplies.  Well, maybe its just me and my close friends.  Today found Margie and me painting river rocks and feeling quite pleased with our efforts.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I bought a kit meant for kids at ALDI a couple of weeks ago.  It has metallic paints, a crappy brush, and dowel that is somewhat sharpened at one end to make dots and a rather extensive booklet of instructions and examples.  But we, like children everywhere, didn’t need no stinkin’ instructions after a cursory glance. We dove right in.  Of course, we chose some thing simple, a random curved line of dots with different colors connecting 3 rocks together.  Here is mine.

painted rocks

The kit came with 4 rocks and we each decided we wanted 3 so we went out to the garden and looked for just the right 3rd one from around the pond.  Then we poked them with pointed sticks loaded with paint.  We laughed a lot too.  We used a heat gun to dry them quickly between colors.  Then we went to Taco Bell for cheap lunch.  It was a fine morning.

I probably will not be here much Thursday because the solar power people may be turning off the power.  I can check in on my phone for quick bursts and will rec comments so you know I have seen them.

Have a good day.
