Today I bought some herbs, a tomato vine, and a sweet potato plant for my garden. A recent story here made me want to add some herbs for use in the kitchen, Mr Zen asked me to grow tomatoes a couple of years ago, and I do not expect sweet potatoes from the purely decorative vine. I also got 6 pony packs of dymondia, a low growing ground cover to try my hand at getting some greenery to grow around the pavers I put down a couple of years ago.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!Monday

I got lemon thyme, two kinds of parsley, and chives for my herbs. I see a lot of basil but I don’t like it. I have a huge tub of rosemary. It had other herbs in it but the rosemary took over! Its a beast.
I planted the dymondia at the intersections of the pavers, hoping they will grow into the middle of the row and fill in. I see this at the college and in front yards that have converted to water friendly ex-lawn areas. I know it grows well in full sun so I have hope. Only a small portion of the patio is planted until I see how well it does.
So here are some new pictures of a few places in the garden. I will caption them. I love this time of year, spring-summer in the garden. It is peaceful in the late afternoon when the breeze comes up from the ocean. The pond has that wonderful sound of running water. I never get tired of sitting there although I do get tired of the never ending work that is a garden. It is always a work in progress.
One small corner, mostly succulents. Spider plants, ivy, succulents, rosemary. Mr Zen made my potting bench.
