IAN:Thursday 10/24/2024 Halloween Yard 2024/Crafts

Here are my annual Halloween pix.  My yard is the lone decorated one on the street but maybe someone else will join in before Halloween.  I also have posted this month’s DIY’s and a lovely flower I saw early yesterday in my garden.  A misc group of stuff.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

The Bones Family has become a staple in my yard.  I also have skellie frogs, birds and the like but they are not out this year. The little retro stuffed cat peeking out from behind Indiana Bones is very cute too although not skellie like.

The Bones Family Picture

Lil Zen brought this ghost trick o treater from her friend’s “clean out the decos” a couple of years ago.  I think he is really cute but Lil Zen poopoos him.  I have some gourds that look like ducks or geese this year too!

Another view

This metal skellie is right in front of the security camera in the front yard and when I look at the pix from it, this guys is staring into the camera.  It cracked me up when I first saw it. My brother from another family always loved to say “Trick o treat, smell my feet!”

some fun goodies

No more Halloween pix so on to DIY’s for this month.

This sign is made with paint sticks and wooden cut out shapes.  I really liked it and it got snapped up at the meeting.  I water color painted the leaf and paper mached a napkin on the pumpkin.

Embrace happiness

I pick up at least one of these light houses whenever I see them at Dollar Tree.  I love to make different backgrounds.  This one is torn Christmas tissue paper and Mod Podge.  It one has real shells and sea glass around the bottom of the building.

Dolphin Light House

A cutting board, a little crate, a bicycle and some flowers.  I hope it sat up straighter than that but it has a new home now.

Enjoy today

It is what is says.  I use that truck a lot too.  More water colored leaves but the background paint kind of mutes the leaf colors.

Pumpkin Truck

The fork and spoon were cut out on this wooden slab.  It could make a nice simple table centerpiece.

Thankful

And last but not least, I woke up to find this night bloomer still open yesterday.  If you look  in the upper left, there is the next bud that will open tonight or tomorrow night.  It is a lovely flowering cactus.

Blooms!

I hope you enjoyed the show.  Thanks for attending.  Have a good day.
