There is a freeway overpass near me that has little "pocket parks" at either end. These are small patches of property that abut the freeway or are at the end of a housing tract or business park. They both have old large trees, grass, a sloping hill side at one end and a couple of picnic tables with grills. This is one of them, called Ecology Park. I seldom see people in either of them and more importantly for me, usually NO other dogs. I take Razzle walking there frequently. We play in the park at this end, walk up over the hill, across the freeway and down to play in the park at the other end. Then its back over to home. I started going up over the hill to add a little resistance to my daily walk and found these two sweet little almost private places for us. However, lately something has invaded my peace of mind on this route.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group gives Kossacks a safe place to check in, a daily diary where we can let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, earthquakes, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It also allows us to find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, earthquakes etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you.
