My sister is very talented with home decorating. She has good taste, is not afraid to spend money for what she wants and knows what she likes. I, on the other hand, am a hot mess! It makes for fun experiences, especially gift giving. Frequently, I just give her a gift certificate to Home Goods and she has a fine time. But this Christmas, i am making a bed runner for her. the three dancersThis is the main part of the runner. It will have a neutral border and the multi colored strips as the binding. If there is any batting, it will be very thin. You can’t see it here but the one on the top of the page has been machine appliqued with a small zig zag stitch over all the raw edges. I think she will like it; she expressed a real interest in the pattern when I showed her the upcoming class.
Called “Wild One”This is my other work in progress. The top is finished, ready to sandwich and quilt. It is very bright but then I am told by some of my guild sisters that they can pick out my quilts so I guess they are mostly bright! I won 10 fat 8ths, all these bright colors with flowers printed, about 3 years ago at the guild and just now got to use them. I really like this one.
So what are you doing today? It is cold, overcast, occasionally rainy so I am quilting, cooking and help Mr Zen put up moulding in the den. It may be done by Thanksgiving but the food will be just as good if there is no moulding in the den at all!
