Today is our 43rd wedding anniversary and I am bringing in some food from a great Vietnamese fusion place. It is garlic noodles and filet minion. We are sure Bill can eat it albeit slowly. I can not tell you the last time we ate a meal together. We are making progress. But today’s diary is LOADED with pix of my garden and a little text about each. I hope you enjoy it.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

The little “foot” as I call it has grown and is now bigger than a quarter! I think the actual term is “pup” but I calls ‘em likes I sees ‘em. I am so glad this has decided to live. I have had it a long time and was very upset that I almost killed it somehow.

Lil Zen brought this gargoyle cat from Europe for me the year she went with her high school. It isn’t very big, just the size of the top of a brick and it has lost the back wing over the years, but I love it. The two fish are ceramic, also from lil zen, but they stay still for photos. The plant with the long leaves is a water iris that I got last year. It looks like it will bloom again this year. The white flower is a water hawthorn as are the floating broad flat leaves. It is very invasive but smells great.

A long ago step father made a pond for us kids and put Hotei in the plants. I was in my low single digits. He has had an accident a long time ago that left his head cracked but true to his nature, he keeps smiling. This one has the sweetest face I have ever seen. When we first moved here, lil zen was 5. She brought a new friend from the neighborhood to meet us, a lovely Korean girl who came to tell me that there was a God in my garden and pointed out Hotei. She was in awe.

This is just so pretty this year. It loves the shade of the honeysuckle tree.

A Hummingbird Feast cuphea just beginning to bloom, and a small superbum stag horn with a nice big new foot. I got that blue pot at the side of the road on my way home from work! Score!

This is the prettiest succulent. Its an echeveria, perhaps even a Mauna Loa but the leaves are not warty like the other one I showed a few weeks ago.

I have a bad habit of picking up broken ends of plants and sticking them into nay pot where I see pen soil, hence I have a lot of mixed bowls like this one. The trailing ones are sedum donkey tail. They get little tiny red flowers at the ends. The stand up ones are crassula green pagoda succulents. The red one in the lower right is a Paddle plant Kalanchoe.

The night bloomer is getting ready to put on her show. There are a lot of buds on this plant and they all open. The bulbous plant in back is a Pregnant Onion and it spits out little baby plants from under its skin. Interesting plant.

Things have just been allowed to grow out of control here. The fern is huge but only half round. There is a sea urchin shell in the grey pot. I can see this scene from my ironing board.

Another over planted planter but this one has 3 bowls.

These are almost all of my garden. I have a small yard but it looks bigger here. Have a good day.
