Mr. Zen and I went to the local B.J.’s Grill and Brewhouse for dinner this evening. They have a system where I can call in and put our names on the list for seating and we get seated faster when we arrive. Usually, we only wait 5 or 10 minutes whereas if we walked in cold, we would wait 25-30 minutes. Well, today was different.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

When we arrived, the wait time was an hour! What? We are stunned. Why in the world is it so long? It seems they were celebrating Pi Day by offering a new mini pizza for $3.14. I could not believe so many people came out for cheap pizza! We watched the bar area, and were able to grab a table from a nice lady and her young son as they left and did not wait an hour.
But everything else was off time and now I am home from dinner with about 30 an hour until publish time and this is the sad story I am left with. I am home now and it is still 3/14 for another 3 hours so I am going to celebrate the day by eating some cherry pie I baked this afternoon and I will put some vanilla ice cream on it too!
Next week I will write a better story, or not. We’ll see.
