I am writing this the evening of 9/1. My calendar was marked on 9/1/2021 “Do Stuff”. I knew that meant pay the bills, call the financial lady, get an appointment for a mammogram, get a new cable box, vote, get kitteh food and be ready for the housekeeper. Like I could get all that done in one day! Right.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

First off, the housekeeper is coming tomorrow. I stripped the bed, did the laundry, did all the things I do before she comes and then, made the bed, folded and put the laundry away, and put back all the things I moved. Even so, I got the bed remade so it was ok. I also found a bright hand made pillowcase that was made for me a couple of years ago and put that on my pillow. I discovered that one of my sheets has a tear in it, so I need new sheets.
I called for a mammo appointment and was offered one at 3p Wednesday or sometime in November. I took 3p. It went very smoothly and no pix had to be retaken.
I called the cable company to find out how to get a new cable box because mine is ancient and doesn’t work well! I thought I would have to take it in but they offered to send a repair man out and to do it between 12-1p Wednesday. He came at 11am, put in a new box, programed it and was gone in less than an hour! It is wonderful to have it working again but it did not improve the crappy selection. I guess you can’t always get what you want.
I called my financial lady because I have an IRA account that my mother left me and I have to take out a certain percentage every year for tax reasons. The Feds want their money! Anyway, I will have some extra money in my account Monday. The withdrawal covers the tax too so I won’t owe more at the end of the year.
I voted, Mr. Zen voted, both NO on the recall in Ca and I will put the ballots in the drop box at the college at the end of my neighborhood.
I paid the bills and still had money to buy 2 weeks (1 24 can case) of kitteh food. They had enough in stock to get a case!
I got it all done and am exhausted! But it was a productive day for me for a change.
