So, Wednesday was warmer than it has been and officially today is the first full day of summer. I look forward to the warmer days and hope it doesn’t get too hot for too long through September and into October. But June is very changeable here, so we will see.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I have been watching videos about building a large filter for my ponds to try to get the big one to clear the algae. I have seen quite a few and have come to conclusion that men seem to want to make any simple device more complicated, adding unneeded pvc pipes and fittings and all manner of extra hoohaa. But while I was watching and considering, the plants I put in a few weeks ago have been quietly do what plants do, growing and that takes nutrients out of the water, away from algae. I noticed this morning that the water is not green now, still murky since the plants leaked their soil into the water but it will settle and filter out as time goes on. I can see about half way through the water. I also found videos for making floating planters using pool noodles and mesh bags, no soil. You use rocks and coconut fiber for holding the plants. I made one and it looks gawd awful right now but will be great in a couple of weeks when the plants have grown. Things are looking better in the garden.
I really had nothing to talk about and this is the result. Sometimes, you just have to take what you can get. I hope you all enjoy your day, using the time to do something you need to do and also something that gives you a little sparkle. You guys are the best. As bigjac says, Hugs!
