I almost forgot to write a story tonight. I was sitting here, eating a sandwich after a long evening of working on sets for vacation bible school at the church I used to attend when I was struck by my responsibilities. So here is a story featuring my two cats, Ash and this one above, Mz Picky.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!Monday

The quilt is ugly but the cat is beautiful.Mz Picky thinks no quilt can leave my house until it has been thoroughly inspected and slept on by her, personally. She likes to sleep on the ironing board because it sits in the garden window and she can see out and be in the sun. It makes my ironing board cat hair hell. But I have found a pet fur brush that works really well and is not one of those sticky rollers you have to replace all the time. She also likes to sleep on the computer desk but only when I am typing!
Ash, contemplating the goldiesThis big man is Ash. He weighs about 20 lbs. In the last few months, the cats and Razzle have made a sort of peace and they have started to inhabit the house and garden like they used to. With summer here, Ash goes out every morning early and checks out the pond. He will pat at the goldies and the plants but he really just wants to drink the running water and watch the fish swim.
These two make my house a home, albeit a furry one. The are learning to hold their own against Razzle but she really just wants to play with them and doesn’t speak “Pootie”.
