IAN: Thursday 11/7/2024 My Brother's Birthday

My brother would have been 72 today.  I am so glad he, my gay brother and both of my parents are gone already.  Thank the FSM they have been spared the arrival of President Hitler and Himmler the Couch Humper.  At least he can’t do any damage to them. None of them are in the ground so they are safe.  I wish I could say the same for those of us still living.  So that is all I have to say.  Pictures of DIYs below.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I swear that all of the DIYs are straight and level but my photos are not.  (Probably a character flaw.)

Bill leave empty boxes for the cats to sleep in.  They love to hang out by the window and watch the world outside, then they get worn out and need a nap in the boxes.

This little sign is made of 1 gallon paint sticks.  A lot of us use them for this kind of thing and I love them.  The graphic is a Christmas bag front.  The paper was very sturdy.  I am not thrilled with the truck but I am running low on them and trying not to buy more since I will be leaving this job at the end of next year. This one was the right size for the sign.  I have tons o supplies that I need to use up and get the space available for Lil Zen to come home or to rent out later.

This little snowman is made of a Dollar Tree piece of wood about 3 x 7 inches.  The carrot is left over from Easter and cut in half so it would lay flat.  I really like him.  All scraps of florals and flannel were used.

The U pick apple sign reminds me of Julian, a town in the desert here where they grow a lot of apples and make sure you know they have pie when you are in town.  I have heard lots of stories about U pick farms but have never seen one nor ever picked fruit from farm trees.  I live a sheltered life.

This iridescent wreath is just so sparkly and pretty.  It was drop dead easy to make too, all with supplies I had on hand so no new money spent.

This the the sled I messed up earlier this week and had to buy a new one.  I spent a big $1.25 to avoid failure. I will rehab the reject and make a new project with it later. I printed out the text, copied it onto the paper with carbon paper and then painted it. I think it came out well.

Jingle all the way

The end of the current DIY’s.  I will have a lot of time to do more of them and quilt.  I have a concept of a new quilt.  Have a good day.
