Yesterday was my baby’s birthday. She is 32. It is amazing to see how she has turned into such a dynamic person, from the little squealing blob she started out as. She looked about as good as most new borns, she had hair and a broken collar bone. By the time she was a week old, the bone had healed, being more like a piece of wet chalk than an actual bone at the time, and all of her hair wiped off her head when I gave her a bath. She was a chrome dome for quite some time but had sweet little red blonde curls by the time she celebrated her first birthday.
Here, at her 32nd birthday, she has no broken bones and her hair is a stunning shade of red, cut in a very complimentary style by an instructor at the Sassoon Academy. She tried out to be a model at one of their hair shows a few years ago and they still use her because she has thick, straight, healthy hair and will let them do most any cut they want to demonstrate. She is long past the age they ask for, 26. I don’t know if I mentioned that she is also gorgeous. That’s just my opinion, you understand. But she gets call backs every year and in between shows for class demos.
This year, I didn’t know what to give her. We have been talking about going to Kauai for a week ever since I came back from my cruise. Kauai IS Hawaii to me, so lush and green. There are lots of fun outdoors activities all over the island. So, this year, I got her 5 birthday cards and put a part of the trip in each one. Now, I have not PAID for this yet, but it is about 6 months away, so I can plan for it. Besides, its her inheritance I am spending! TeeHee! So, in card 1 was the plane trip info. In card 2 was the cottage info. In card 3 was the river inner tube rafting trip info. In card 4 was the mud bug to the waterfalls info. and in car 5 was the zip line info. It will be such fun to plan all of this and to go next year. We will have such a time!
What is on your planning agenda? Some times, she and I dream of things we don’t actually get. I hope this is not one of them but it is fun to plan anyway.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!Monday
