While walking Razzle a couple of weeks ago, I noticed bees going in and out of a water meter in the ground at a local business. I have never seen a beehive in the wild, only ones like bee keepers keep. There is a very cool one in a building at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds. The beehive is in a big glass box so you can see what’s going on. But here were wild bees, flying into a water meter.

When I got home, I did a little googling of bees in water meters and lo and behold, there is tons of info and lots of pictures of this very thing. There are companies that specialize in their removal. This picture shows the top of the meter off and the honeycombs inside.

I have no bee suit, no smoke maker, no idea about bees but I am eaten up with curiosity. I will not bother the bees, get hurt, or get Razzle stung but boy would I love too.
