As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

A couple of months ago, lil zen found a new local eatery called Giolicious. This is from the interwebs just now: Giolicious Chicken and Waffles in Cerritos! View Giolicious Chicken and Waffles's July 2023 deals and menus.” They had great fried chicken and fries as well as chicken and waffles which we never had. I went there 3 or 4 times since. I was there about a week or so ago with lil zen and my man, cliff.
So Margie and I went today for lunch. I recognized the counter guy and he knew who I was. But the menu looked weird and was hard for me to read. Then I realized there was no more chicken or fries or waffles-it is now taco place! Same guy behind the counter, just watching me to see how I was going to react and how long it would take for me to catch on. I was flat footed! We laughed but I did not want tacos so we went somewhere else that wasn’t as good as the chicken would have been.
They had changed the sign, painted the back wall with a new logo, put up new menu boards and that was that! It was a shock.
I guess that just points up the way we all move along, they paint the walls and put up a new sign and that’s history. I am feeling a little expendable at the moment. It will pass. Maybe I shouldn’t have used that cliche.
